Training Diary
Would you like to follow my training with all my dogs in Freestyle and Heelwork to music? Well, here it is! My very own training diary!

WHY SHOULD YOU FOLLOW MY TRAINING DIARY?
My Training Diary is for people wanting to get into sports, especially for those of you who are interested in dogdancing - Freetyle and Heelwork to Music.
Having four dogs at the moment, three border collies and a working labrador who are all at different stages in their training and are completely different from each other, makes this diary very dynamic and shows off how to train different dogs into dogdancing. Whenever I get a new puppy, they will too be included in the Diary of course.
This diary will contain my thoughts and methods going into preparing a dog for especially dogdancing. All my training is VERY detailed and I put a lot of effort into making my dogs feel like superstars whenever we train. Being able to work for several minutes in a ring, doing advanced tricks and still be connected as one - it requires a lot of training.
I've been thinking of doing a Training Diary for many years and now we are here! You can read more about me and who I am under "about", if you are curious about my training style, achievements and educations.
Concept
It's an online class, but a very different one. Each dog I'm training is different and you'll get to see how I train them in order to compete at a high level in dogdancing.
Everything from basic foundations to preparing for championships - you'll see it all. I'm transparent with everything, the good and bad.
Let's go!
Content
This live training diary features weekly updates from my training sessions with all dogs. I'll post every Friday and Monday to share my competition preparations and training progress for the upcoming week.
All content is raw unedited footage from my training sessions. Once a while I will gather questions and film a video answring them.
Duration
The Training Diary is an exciting subscription service that renews each month until you to cancel! You can even purchase a full 12-month subscription in advance for added convenience.
We're thrilled about the journey ahead and can't wait for the diary to continue inspiring you for years to come!
MEET THE DOGS IN THE TRAINING DIARY
NACHO
Nacho is a 2 year old Border Collie with little natural drive for work. He's a quick learner, which is one of his best qualities!
His biggest challenge in dogdancing is to work for several minutes without getting a reward. He's also a very sensitive boy with lot's of own opinions. He find Freestyle very difficult and gets easily frustrated with tricks. I find that he likes the structure of HtM better since it's not as "free".
Nacho is already competing in the highest grade in Heelwork to Music and is selected for the national team. He is working with an advanced routine and has the World Championships coming up next. In freestyle he is in grade 2.
In the Training Diary you'll see him work with lot's of foundations in HtM - positions, transitions, engagement and being very precise in everything he does. Up next you'll also see how I prepare him for his very first international championship.
PUMBAA
Pumbaa is a 1 year old working labrador with the most amazing drive I've ever seen in a dog. He is my partners dog, but I'm borrowing him for training every once in a while.
His biggest challenge in dogdancing is to be able to collect himself and all that powerful energy. He loves toys and treats a bit too much sometimes, he can sometimes forget to think whenever there's a reward visible. He is sensitive towards signals and has a great confidence, but sometimes need support to dare and try new things. He's a quick learner and has an enormous will to please.
Pumbaa has not competed yet as he's still has a lot more to learn before he is close to be ready for that. Pumbaa is also still recovering from an injury that happened a few months ago. He is slowly starting to get back to training and is allowed more movement.
In the Training Diary you'll see how I take on a completely different breed than I'm used to working with. He will be working with lot's of foundations and training on collecting himself in order to build dynamic routines in both Freestyle and Heelwork to Music.
NAVY
Navy is my oldest dog and by far the most experience one. He is 9 years old and a very intense Border Collie. Everything he does, he does with passion - and a lot of speed. Like... A LOT of speed.
Navy's biggest challenge in dogdancing is his very high herding instinct and the fact that he is quite a slow learner when it comes to very detailed tricks. He doesn't think of treats as rewards, he just swallows them and continues waiting for something more valuable. He used to do Heelwork to Music as well, but we stopped due to him working with too much intensity in the positions.
Navy's been a part of the national team in Freestyle for several years, representing Sweden at many championships and collecting amazing medals.
In the Training Diary you'll see the very different way I work with him in order to shape behaviors and build routines. He, just as Nacho, is preparing for the World Championships this summer.
SPUD
Spud is my youngest Border Collie, just over 1 year old. Navy is the uncle of Spud and they are very similar in many ways. Spud loves to work, especially on a distance in Freestyle.
Spud's biggest challenge in dogdancing is the fact that he needs 100% structure in order to not get frustrated or angry with me (haha). He, just as Navy, has a lot of herding instinct while working on a distance from me. Overall he is a very light dog that jumps A LOT. We're struggling with staying on the ground as he likes to be in the air far too much.
Spud recently did his debute in Freestyle and Heelwork to Music. He will work with both disicplines, but mostly in Freestyle as it feels like he was born to become a freestyledog.
In the Training Diary you'll see Spud working with lot's of foundations for Freestyle and especially see me trying out new methods of teaching new behaviors. You'll be a part of Spud's journey preparing for a life in dogdancing.
